Sugar Ant

This sunken ant was developed to represent Camponotus maculatus , commonly known as the Spotted Sugar Ant, which occurs prolifically in the Fynbos biome. This ant works magic on stream and is a go to pattern for me before considering normal nymph patterns. It has proven itself over and over as a definate trout magnet. Tied #16 down to #24, with a choice of tungsten , plastic or glass bead.
